Would You Pass?
Check whether your current run clears a prop firm challenge โ profit target, max drawdown, daily loss, minimum days, and the consistency rule. The point isn't the badge; it's knowing your edge survives the rules before you pay the fee.
โ ๏ธ Rules current as of 2026-06-03 and simplified to one common variant per firm (e.g. FTMO 2-Step Phase 1). Prop-firm rules change often โ always confirm against your firm's official help center before relying on this. This tool is an estimate, not financial advice.
Rules at a glance
| Firm | Target | Max DD | Daily loss | Min days | Consistency |
|---|
How it's calculated
Max drawdown: DD < M
Daily loss (if the firm has one): worst day < L
Minimum days (if any): days โฅ N
Consistency (if any): best day โค C ร profit
- T, M, L โ the firm's profit target, max drawdown and daily loss limit in dollars โ a percentage of account size for forex firms, a fixed dollar amount per size for futures firms
- N โ minimum trading days required
- C โ consistency cap as a decimal (0.50 = best day at most 50% of total profit)
- DD, worst day, best day โ your worst drawdown from peak, largest losing day and largest winning day, in dollars
Worked example
Topstep $50,000 Combine: target $3,000, max drawdown $2,000 (trailing), daily loss $1,000, 2 minimum days, 50% consistency.
Your run: profit $3,400, worst drawdown $1,200, worst day $600, 5 trading days, best day $1,900.
Target โ ($3,400 โฅ $3,000) ยท Drawdown โ ($1,200 < $2,000) ยท Daily loss โ ($600 < $1,000) ยท Days โ (5 โฅ 2) ยท Consistency โ โ cap = 0.50 ร $3,400 = $1,700, and your $1,900 best day exceeds it.
Result: not yet. With a $1,900 best day you need total profit of at least $3,800 ($1,900 รท 0.50) to clear the consistency rule.

What is the prop firm consistency rule?
The consistency rule caps how much of your total profit can come from a single day โ typically your best day must be no more than 40โ50% of total profit, so one outlier day can't carry your pass. Topstep, MyFundedFutures and Take Profit Trader enforce 50% during evaluation, Apex applies 50% on funded accounts, and many forex firms have none during evaluation.
What is max drawdown on a prop firm challenge?
Max drawdown is the largest your account can fall before you fail. Forex firms (FTMO, FundedNext) usually use a static drawdown โ a fixed floor below your starting balance. Futures firms (Topstep, Apex, MyFundedFutures) usually use a trailing drawdown that ratchets up with your high-water mark, often including unrealized P&L, and frequently locks once it reaches the starting balance.
What is the difference between daily loss and max drawdown?
Daily loss is the most you can lose in one trading day; breaching it usually fails the day or the account. Max drawdown is the most you can lose overall across the whole challenge. Some futures firms (Apex, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader) have no daily loss limit at all โ the trailing drawdown is the only hard guardrail.
Which firms have no daily loss limit?
Apex, MyFundedFutures, and Take Profit Trader removed daily loss limits โ the trailing drawdown is the only hard guardrail. That changes how you should size and manage risk.
How do I know if I would pass an FTMO challenge?
You pass FTMO's first phase if you reach the 10% profit target without breaching the 5% daily loss or the 10% max loss, across at least 4 trading days. The 2-step then requires a 5% target in verification. This tool checks your current numbers against those thresholds; to run it on your real trade history automatically, journal your trades in SignalDeck.
