FX Strength — Currency Meter ("FX Strength", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is an iOS app developed by SignalDeck. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App does and does not collect.
The short version: FX Strength has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. Nothing you enter or view in the App is sent to us or stored on any server we control. The one thing that changed since this policy's first version: Free-tier users now see a small, non-personalized banner ad (Section 3) — we deliberately did not opt into the ad-personalization/device-tracking path, so this does not require Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Pro subscribers never see ads.
1. Information We Collect Directly
None. FX Strength has no account system, no user-generated content, and no analytics or tracking SDKs of our own embedded in the App. We do not know who you are, and we have no way to identify individual users from anything the App itself does. Section 3 covers what our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may process independently to serve non-personalized ads — that data does not pass through us and is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
2. Network Access
The App makes network requests to the following, and only the following, destinations:
- European Central Bank reference-rate feed — a free, public, keyless endpoint. This request carries no parameters that identify you or your device.
- SignalDeck's delayed FX rate feed (where configured) — authenticated with an API key that identifies the app, not you personally. No request body or parameter sent to this feed carries anything user-specific.
- Apple's StoreKit / App Store endpoints — used solely to process Pro subscription purchases. Apple's own privacy policy governs this data, not ours; we never see your payment details.
- Google AdMob / User Messaging Platform (Free tier only) — serves the banner ad and, in the EEA/UK, the consent form described in Section 3. Governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
3. Advertising (Free Tier Only)
Free-tier users see a small banner ad at the bottom of the strength list, served by Google AdMob. Pro subscribers never see ads — this is one of Pro's benefits. A few specific commitments about how this works:
- Non-personalized only. Every ad request is explicitly flagged non-personalized (
npa=1). We do not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, do not read your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and do not build an ad profile of you. Ads are served contextually, not based on your activity across other apps or websites. - Consent (EEA/UK). Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents a consent form to users in the EEA/UK before any ad-related processing begins, as required by local law. Outside those regions, this step is skipped automatically.
- What Google may still process. Even without personalization, serving an ad inherently involves some data — the ad request itself, coarse location (derived from IP, not GPS), device type, and app/ad-network identifiers used for fraud prevention, frequency capping, and Apple's SKAdNetwork attribution. This is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, not ours — we don't receive or store it. See Google's own AdMob data disclosure for details.
- No mediation networks beyond Google (for now). If we later enable AdMob mediation with additional ad networks, this section will be updated to name them before that ships.
4. Local Notifications
If you enable Pro alerts, notifications are scheduled entirely on-device using Apple's local notification framework. No notification content or scheduling data is sent to any server.
5. Local Storage & Offline Cache
The App caches the most recently fetched rate data on your device so it works offline between refreshes. This cache never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
6. Third-Party Services
Beyond the network destinations listed in Section 2 and Google AdMob/UMP (Section 3), the App does not integrate any third-party SDK — no analytics, no crash reporting, no social login.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+. We collect no personal information from any user regardless of age, and ads are always requested non-personalized with no age signal sent — AdMob is configured accordingly. The App is not directed at children and contains no features (chat, social, user-generated content) relevant to child safety.
8. Your Rights
Because FX Strength itself collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf. Uninstalling the App removes its local on-device cache. If you subscribed to Pro, manage or cancel that subscription directly through Apple (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) — SignalDeck has no visibility into or control over your Apple ID data. For any rights regarding data Google's ad-serving may process independently (Section 3), see Google's own privacy controls or their privacy policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds an optional account system or additional ad mediation networks. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it in the App Store "What's New" notes.
